Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026
Edge Engine (“we,” “us”) is a UFC forecasting tool. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little as possible.
What we collect
- Account information — when you create an account, our authentication provider (Clerk) stores the details you sign up with: your email address, phone number or username, along with your name and profile image. Which of those exist depends on how you signed in. We never see or store your password.
- Your date of birth — you enter it once to confirm you are 21 or older. We check your age and then keep only the month and year. The day is discarded and never stored.
- Your activity in the app — the preferences, followed fighters and events, and picks you choose to save.
- Push notification devices — if you turn on push notifications, each browser or device you enable them on is recorded: the address your browser gives us to deliver to, the two keys that encrypt those messages, that device's time zone, and when it was last seen. Turning push off in your notification settings removes every one of them.
- Which notifications you have had — we record which alerts have already been sent to you, and which you have read or dismissed, so you are not told the same thing twice.
- Basic technical data — standard server logs and a session cookie that keeps you signed in.
We do not collect payment information, and we do not take bets or process wagers of any kind.
How we use it
- To sign you in and keep your account secure.
- To save your preferences, follows, and picks so they're there when you return.
- To send you notifications you've opted into (you can turn these off at any time).
- To keep the service working and improve it.
We do not sell your personal information.
Services we rely on
We share the minimum necessary data with providers that run the app on our behalf:
- Clerk — accounts and authentication.
- Neon — the database that stores your preferences, follows, picks, and your birth month and year.
- Vercel — hosting.
- Resend — sending the emails you've opted into.
- Upstash — a cache that also records which alerts have already been sent, so a retry cannot send the same one twice. Recipients appear there only as a one-way hash, never as an address.
- Your browser's push service — Google, Mozilla or Apple, depending on your browser. If you enable push, the encrypted notification is delivered through them. They cannot read its contents.
- ESPN and our odds provider — public fight data and betting lines (this involves no personal data).
Cookies
We use a single essential cookie to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your account data while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Manage account on your profile — this removes your identity from our authentication provider and your data from our database. Deletion is permanent.
Age
Edge Engine is intended for adults 21 and older. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 21.
You confirm your age once, by entering your date of birth. We work out whether you are 21 from the full date and then keep only the month and year — enough to stand behind the check, not enough to be your birthday. If you are under 21 the account cannot be used, and we keep nothing from the attempt.
Changes
We may update this policy; we'll revise the date above when we do. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
